According to the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI), a consumer making $35,000 in 2010 and contributed $1,426 to a flexible spending account and spent it on qualified medical expenses would have saved $320, or 22.4%! If you have rising out-of-pocket medical expenses, flexible spending accounts can save you money before you even get to the doctor’s office. The higher your tax bracket, the more money you save.
