The cynic in me wants to say it’s because we take far less vacation, but seeing how I am just back from Mexico, I don’t expect any sympathy.
This Khan Academy (one of the best sites on the net, worldwide) video is incredible. If the % of GDP can be reduced slowly over time, it may imply a more efficient allocation of productive resources to other parts of our economy (think natural gas boom going on, which could solve our energy dependence problem in the next 10-15 yrs). It would certainly mean less national debt for future generations…
